Pomppa specializes in creating high-quality dog coats with the mission to improve the well-being of dogs by creating long-lasting and durable products that enable natural and unrestricted movement.
Pomppa is guided by strong values that emphasize the dog’s well-being, valuing each other, and respecting the environment. To extend the product life cycle and minimize their environmental impact, they have recently launched a new RePomppa second-hand online service for used Pomppa dog wear.
The SporttiPomppa is the newest release to the Jummpa product line. We have reviewed the JumpaPommpa before and will go through their differences in this review.

SporttiPomppa vs. JumppaPomppa
The SporttiPomppa and JumppaPomppa are both designed with comfort and functionality in mind but cater to different needs. The JumppaPomppa is a very stretchy fleece base layer or sweater that offers added warmth. On the other hand, the SporttiPomppa is a water- and dirt-resistant shell jacket, providing protection from wind and light rain.
The SporttiPomppa is focusing on breathability and protection from the elements for mild weather, whereas the JumppaPomppa only adds a layer of thermal insulation. Additionally, the JumppaPomppa is a pullover style with stretchy material offering a snug fit ideal for layering under other jackets in cold weather while the SportiiPomppa has a zipper on the side and is designed to be an outer layer.
If your dog already has a Jumppa coat and is on the upper end of the size range, you might want to upsize when getting the Sportti as its material is not as elastic around the chest area which is the main measuremnet for its sizing.
About the SporttiPomppa
SporttiPomppa is a lightweight but durable jacket designed to protect active dogs in cooler, wet weather without restricting movement.
This jacket features a durable, silent softshell outer layer that is water—and dirt-resistant. The inner lining is a smooth, antistatic fabric that prevents the dog’s coat from tangling or matting while providing warmth. While not padded, the SporttiPomppa is ideal for mild weather, offering protection from wind and light rain while maintaining breathability.
The jacket has a high collar for added coverage and provides extended backend coverage to protect the dog’s hips while still allowing clearance for dogs with high tail carrying.
The jacket’s form-fitting design and adjustable elastic waistband ensure a snug fit and that the jacket stays in place even during off-leash adventures. Reflective strips are added for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions.
Sportti is easy to put on and take off with only needing to pull over the head and lifting one leg. There are no straps, buckles or leg loops just the zipper. Since it doesn’t have too much adjustability, it comes in 16 sizes to ensure fit on many different dogs. Zulu is wearing size 44.
SporttiPomppa Review
I loved reviewing the JumppaPomppa three years ago and was looking forward to the opportunity to see the SporttiPomppa that is building on the same design.
Zulu is historically a hard-to-fit dog with her deep chest and small neck and we regularly encounter issues with the coats sliding to one side on her due to her narrow body.
Since the Sportti doesn’t offer much adjustment and the part around the chest is not particularly flexible (like in the case of the JumppaPomppa), I was concerned about the sizing but the 44 coat does fit her pretty perfectly! The back length is on the shorter side but a size up would be huge all around and I like how snugly it covers her core with this size.
The large coverage and elastic shoulder sections ensure a snug fit and we encountered zero rotation or sliding to the side. While looking at the pictures, many were concerned about the width of the front section covering and restricting the shoulders or chafing the inside of the front legs, the excess material on the sides of the chest piece is thin and elastic and it did not interfere with Zulu’s movement at all. Softshell usually doesn’t cause chafing but if you have a dog with minimal hair and sensitive skin, you probably want to keep an eye on that area when you start using the coat.
The grey underside and the middle of the front chest section are also made of softshell.
While the outer material is very sturdy and easy to clean, the inner lining can collect a lot of hair and soak in mud and dirt over time. The underside of the jacket is quick-drying but not waterproof which is why this is not a raincoat but a jacket halfway between a sweater and a raincoat.
We have been using this coat a lot during this season and I am truly impressed by its quality and fit. It does not have a harness or collar opening so it has an outstanding coverage around the chest area which is crucial to keep dogs warm especially on windy days.
The addition of the elastic tightening point around the waist is hidden under the material so it stays out of the way so much that it is easy to miss. Since there is a zipper on the side, it is enough to tighten this waist section once to create the ideal fit and it doesn’t need to be loosened to get the coat on and off.
SporttiPomppa Review Summary
The SporttiPomppa is a high-quality jacket tailored for active dogs, combining excellent coverage, and a snug fit without sliding or restricting movement.
While the outer material is durable and easy to clean, the inner lining can collect dirt and hair, and the underside, though quick-drying, isn’t waterproof. This makes the jacket a versatile option for cool, windy, and damp conditions rather than heavy rain.
