PETFORTA Anatomical Dog Harness
Adjustable and minimalistic
Designed for comfort and durability, the PETFORTA Anatomical Dog Harness ensures even pressure distribution, unrestricted movement, and a secure fit for all dogs.
About the PETFORTA Anatomical Dog Harness
PETFORTA’s Anatomical Dog Harness is a lightweight, highly adjustable, and durable harness that is designed to fit dogs of all shapes and sizes.
By offering six points of adjustment (!), it can be ensured that the harness distributes the pressure on the chest instead of the throat which helps prevent neck strain. The harness also allows natural shoulder movement and avoids chafing in the armpit area during daily walks or outdoor adventures.
The harness has two plastic buckles and metal leash attachment points. The straps include 4 reflective lines which provide visibility during walks in the dark. For easy maintenance, it is both machine and hand-washable, with a complimentary laundry bag included.

PETFORTA Anatomical Dog Harness Review
Zulu is a dog with a small neck and a deep chest which makes it hard to find an off-the-shelf harness that fits her well. In the case of the PETFORTA harness, all straps are highly adjustable, making it easy to fit any dog! If you need guidance on adjusting the harness for the perfect fit, you can check out our article on the topic.
Zulu is wearing their medium size which comes with 25 mm (1") wide straps. The width of the straps is adjusted for each size to provide strength without adding bulk to the small sizes. You can also purchase a matching leash to create a full set.

Many of you asked how it compares to the Blue-9 Balance harness and while their solution is very similar, the materials used are different. The PETFORTA harness has thicker and more “rigid” straps which provide a bit more stability to the harness against rotating to the side or riding up to the neck when pulled forward.
However, as discussed in this article, rotating to the side (especially with leash pressure) will always be more present with any strap harness than in case of a more padded harness that has a wider chest plate stabilizing it. In the case of the PETFORTA harness, the stability is a tradeoff for adjustability and it also provides a great solution for hot days when we want to prevent the dog from overheating under a harness with a bigger coverage.

While the sliders stayed securely in place, I had some trouble “tucking away” the excess strap loops created after adjustment. The harness has these plastic keepers that are supposed to hold the two straps together but they never stayed in place for us. You can see this on Zulu’s chest in the photo below. This is not an issue in practice, but creates a more “cluttered” look and makes it easier for the dog to get stuck on something when running through the woods.

Functionality Review of the PETFORTA Anatomical Dog Harness
No-pull correction: It does not have a no-pull ring. Technically you might be able to force a carabiner through the front triangle that holds the three straps together under the neck but it is not designed to be a leash attachment point.
Running/Biking: Would be a great option if the dog runs next to you but you want more padding for a dedicated pulling harness.
Hiking: It is light, easy to clean, allows for free leg movement, and doesn’t make the dog overheat which are all great features in a hiking harness! It doesn’t have a handle and is low profile which helps to prevent the dog from getting caught on something in the woods. If you need a handle you can still grab the top section of the harness as needed.
City walks: It is a good and functional harness for daily urban walks.
Easy to put on/adjust: It only has buckles on the chest strap so they need to go over the head. Adjustment will take some time as there are six adjustment points. Expect to readjust it during the first few outings when you see how it looks when used. The sliders are strong and they did not loosen over time.
Visibility: It has reflective stripes all around.

PETFORTA Anatomical Dog Harness Review Summary
Overall the PETFORTA Anatomical Dog Harness is a great option for those who struggle to find a well-fitting, non-restrictive harness for their dogs or just prefer a minimalistic but sturdy harness. Its lightweight construction and freedom of movement make it a great choice for active dogs, while the durable materials and reinforced stitching ensure longevity. The minimalistic design provides comfort without unnecessary bulk, making it suitable for both daily walks and extended outdoor adventures.
It is important to understand that having a larger armpit clearance and strap materials will always come with less stability and more rotation to the side. This isn’t a flaw but an inherent aspect of all similar harnesses.
For those prioritizing comfort, breathability, and a harness that won’t interfere with a dog’s natural gait, this is a solid option worth considering.
