About the PETDURO Personalized and Padded Collar and Leash
The PETDURO Padded Dog Collar features an engraved name and number on a plastic buckle for quick identification. Crafted from nylon, velvet, and breathable padding, this collar ensures comfort during everyday wear. It comes in eight colors and four sizes.
Multiple customization options are available through the “Customize Now” button on Amazon, allowing you to select fonts and input your pet’s details effortlessly. Both the name and the phone number line allow you to add 12 characters to the buckle.
Beyond the collar, the PETDURO set offers additional matching accessories including a leash, poop bag holder, harness, and walking bag that you can add under the personalization page. Each accessory has the same material and color to create a fully matching set.
The padded leash has a plastic D-ring under the handle to attach the poop bag holder and also features a wide, padded handle that makes it very comfortable to hold.
The design of the collar ensures that there is minimal pressure on the buckle (webbing going through the D-ring) for better durability and safety. This also ensures that no hardware is touching the dog which can be a problem for sensitive/allergic pets.
On the other hand, this also means that you need to guide through the buckle on the ring every time you want to put on or remove the collar which adds an extra step to the process.
PETDURO Personalized and Padded Collar and Leash Review
The PETDURO Padded set is very light and the extra padding & width make it very comfortable both for the dogs and for the humans.
Their collar sizing seems to run small as Zulu’s 14" neck was supposed to comfortably fit in their Small size (11-15") and it ended up being a bit tight on her even when fully loosened. This is a shame because I really enjoyed the look of the wide collar on her.
There is no information available on any stress or weight testing done on the plastic buckle. While there haven’t been any issues with it so far, it may not be the best choice for larger dogs prone to lunging or who would run away if the buckle opened as it doesn’t feel like a durable buckle.
Another consideration is that this set may not be ideal for heavy use on trails due to the soft, padded materials collecting dirt and dust easily and soaking in rain and mud. There is no instruction on cleaning/washing this material and handwashing a light-colored version makes it hard to get back to the original state after a few muddy hikes.
On the other hand, I wanted to highlight the engraving option once more which eliminates the need for a tag that could easily get caught or lost. The white-colored text was not the most visible on Zulu’s buckle but it is readable and it seems to stand out better on the brighter color options.
The description mentions “engraving” the text but it looks to be printed on the buckle. While we have not run into this issue so far, it is possible that the carabiner and the D-ring would scratch off the text over time as they are placed right next to the buckle. This is even more probable if there are additional tags on the ring that would continuously scratch the buckle.
Review Summary
This PETDURO Padded Set is a soft, light, and comfortable set that comes in eight colors and four sizes. When clicking on “Customize Now”, you can add a matching leash, harness, poop bag holder, and bag to the order to create a fully matching set with the accessories you need for a reasonable price.
The addition of a custom text option on the buckle is a great safety feature to help dogs get home faster if they are lost. As the plastic buckle doesn’t seem to be very strong, this collar is best suited for smaller dogs or dogs who do not pull and are not a flight risk.
For reference, Zulu had a small collar & leash set. When choosing a size, keep in mind that Zulu’s small collar was running smaller than the sizing chart.
