Non-stop Dogwear Solid Collar WD Review
The Solid Collar WD from Non-stop Dogwear is a heavy-duty, semi-slip dog collar designed to prevent dogs from slipping out while ensuring easy on/off functionality.
It is 50 mm (~2") wide to distribute force evenly and features padding for comfort. The collar has hook and loop fasteners for attaching patches (but it does not come with a patch). It features a large ring which makes attaching any leash very easy.
It is available only in olive and in sizes ranging from 40 to 55 cm so it best fits medium-large dogs. Made from durable nylon with a closed-cell foam inner lining, the collar is machine washable at 30°C but should not be tumble-dried.
Zulu was previously using the small Non-stop Rock collar which is also a limited-slip design that fit her perfectly so I used that as a sizing guide. The size small Rock translates to the same as size 40 in the Solid collar so we went with that. While these two collars look the same size next to each other, the Solid Collar feels a bit smaller once on the dog due to the thick padding and more rigid material.
Zulu has a 14" neck so the next size up (size 43) in the Solid collar might be too big or just right. The 40 is still an okay fit and it is true to the sizing guide but it doesn’t slip over her small head as easily as the Rock did, so that is something to keep in mind if your dog is on the higher end of the sizing range.
The collar does feel heavy-duty and is very well-made. The patch panel is a very nice addition to display text over the collar but it will also collect dirt, hair, etc. over time if a patch doesn’t cover it.
There are only two things that could make this collar better: if they would offer velcro patches that fit it perfectly and if it would come in more colors. As this is part of their new Working Dog line, they probably stick to the “military color scheme” for now, but we shall see.
The Solid Adjustable Collar WD is another version of this collar that is adjustable between 13.8 - 21.7 in (35-55 cm) but it is not padded.
Non-stop Dogwear Solid Leash WD Review
The Solid Leash WD from Non-stop Dogwear is a heavy-duty dog leash designed for training, operations, and everyday use.
It measures 2 meters (6.5 feet) in length and is made from double webbing with a Hypalon reinforcement for enhanced durability. The leash includes a robust bolt snap carabiner rated to hold 300 kg (661 lbs). Available in olive, this leash is part of the Working Dog series, known for its strength. It is recommended for hand washing at 30°C.
The Solid Leash is minimalistic and matches the Solid collars perfectly well both in color and style. It has a simple loop for the handle (no padding), so the entire leash is easy to clean, quick to dry, and very lightweight. I love the combination of a wide and padded collar with the thinner, minimalistic leash next to it: there is no unnecessary bulk or extra material and everything feels safe and sturdy.
