Remember to use it as a backup or addition as every tool can fail.
The Necto Cellular Temperature & Humidity Monitor
The Necto 3-in-1 Cellular Sensor combines temperature, humidity, and power status monitoring - originally designed for RV’s to ensure pets are safe when owners need to step away. It operates over 4G LTE networks, without needing Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity so it offers prompt alerts even from a distance.
The device comes with a built-in SIM card that connects to AT&T, T-Mobile, and Cellular One networks, providing nationwide coverage. Users receive instant alerts via text and email when the temperature or humidity goes outside of the preset range.
The Necto sensor is unique with offering two years of cellular service at no additional cost, with the option to renew annually for $29.99 after that. The device is equipped with an adhesive mount, with a rechargeable battery that provides up to 72 hours of backup power.
Readings come in every 10 minutes and they are stored for up to one year, which can be exported as CSV files for record-keeping. Users can add up to five contacts to receive alerts, ensuring that multiple parties are informed of any changes in the environment.
Necto Temperature Monitor Review
We have been using the Necto for months while driving on road trips and spending days at Search and Rescue training so it has never failed us so far. It will not work in an area with absolutely no cell phone coverage but it worked pretty consistently even in areas with spotty coverage.
Most people think about temperature monitors for warm days but it was really helpful to use it to understand how cold our car stays in the back during the winter months, even when the heat is on and the passenger area is comfortable.
Its mobile app is easy to use, quick to set up and the UX/UI is pretty self-explanatory. It offers everything you might need but keeps the options organized and intuitive. The temp and humidity is always shown front and center and updates regularly. You can set both the minimum and maximum size of the alert ranges to customize for your needs and the alerts always came on promptly.

It comes with a USB-C Charger and USB Adapter making it easy to plug it in anywhere. The adhesive wall mount helps to keep it on the dog’s level to ensure you get accurate readings as long as you keep it in the shade.
The battery time for us was close to 72 hours but never less than 48 hours which is pretty good in its category.
Review Summary
This review is a bit shorter than normal because the Necto monitor simply delivers on everything it promises. During months of use, I have never ran into a connectivity issue, a false alarm or a delayed/missed alert as far as I can tell. I was looking for fitfalls or weaknesses to mention in the review but in this case I do not have any cons to share which does not happen often.
I am impressed with this tempreture monitor’s overall performance, how easy it is to use and how reliably it works. If you need a tempreture monitor for your RV or car while traveling or at events, the Necto monitor is a great option.
