Giavanna (the owner) was very easy to work with and she brainstormed with me to come up with the design and colors which I really appreciated.
Zulu’s collar is a Wide Crystal Collar that consists of a 1" Navy layer on a 1.5" Seafoam base. The two-toned crystals were handpicked to match her colors and the collar perfectly! The two sides are blue crystals while the dark blue middle row has a golden spark for extra sparkle. The black hardware adds the perfect touch of elegance to this collar.
When it comes to handmade rhinestone collars, the devil is in the details as it can easily ruin the look if the stones’ spacing or position is asymmetrical/inaccurate. I really appreciated the attention to detail on this collar: every crystal and hardware was perfectly placed, and the holes for the buckle were punched and spaced nicely. With the addition of the wider base layer, the contact between the dog and the clasps on the back of the top layer can also be minimized for dogs with sensitivities.
I really appreciate the ease of use that comes with Biothane and that it is super easy to clean. With the addition of crystals, you have the option to have a fancy collar without needing to sacrifice durability which is usually a tradeoff.
While using this collar, we have never had an issue with a crystal loosening up as they are held in place firmly. After months of use, the collar still looks like new! The only thing I would change is to add a side release buckle for easier on/off experience but that is only a personal preference. The current black hardware is definitely prettier than a plastic buckle and you can choose between silver, black, and brass to match the colors of your set.
