Whether it’s camping, hiking, hunting, or simply exploring the great outdoors, this sleeping bag’s versatile design seamlessly transitions between a snug sleeping bag and a cozy blanket when opened up. With an estimated temperature rating of -10°C (14 F), it offers reliable warmth in various conditions.

Care instructions include a cold, gentle/delicate machine wash, followed by hang drying to preserve the loft of the down insulation, ensuring optimal performance.

Hound Adventure Sleeping Bag Review

We received the Hound Adventure Sleeping Bag in the fall and ended up using it a lot more than expected over the winter. I utilized it both in chilly AirBnBs while traveling and also in Zulu’s car crate while she was waiting in the car during training.

This is a very light but fluffy sleepy bag that Zulu really liked. Being able to fully open it up on the side to make it “flat” is also a great feature that makes it more versatile for different situations or if you want to use it for multiple bigger dogs.

It currently comes in one size that can fit a smaller Husky so it was pretty roomy for Zulu. I used it opened up in many cases to avoid her getting tangled in it but that still allowed her to snuggle into it and stay warm.

There are only two cons I could bring up - one being that the down insulation loses some feathers here and there. This is only annoying if the dog is also wearing a base layer because you will need to pick them off one by one from the coat after every few uses.

The other aspect I wanted to note is that the bottom part of the 20D nylon outer layer could be just a tad bit sturdier in my opinion as it gets snagged on thorns and spikey plants easily. It had no issues with Zulu’s nails and it didn’t rip open for us but if you plan to use it outdoors, I would recommend bringing a pad to place under it or just keeping an eye out for any prickles before placing it down.

Hound Adventure Sleeping Bag Review Summary

Due to the versatility of this sleeping bag, we ended up using it a lot more than expected. It is a great option for overnight hikers but also for people who don’t want to commit to just a blanket but unsure about needing a sleeping bag. This sleeping system seamlessly transitions into what you need and you can easily add it over a bed at home, or into a car crate, or use it for camping.

As it is on the bigger side, it is better suited for medium/large dogs.
