Dog Nerd Designs - Crystal Biothane Collar Review
Biothane dog collars have many advantages over textile or leather collars. Beta Biothane is a type of PVC-coated polyester webbing that offers a unique combination of softness and strength. Their waterproof and odor-resistant properties make them ideal for any adventure, from swimming to hiking, while their resistance to UV ensures durability in various conditions. Another great feature is that they come in many different colors so you can match any style.
Dog Nerds Designs uses European crystals in a huge variety of colors. Most of them are just as durable as the Biothane with one exception: the color-changing crystals can be damaged by saltwater so that is something to note if you are heading to the beach often.

Our collar is based on their Zebra design because I really liked the unique idea of having two elevated layers on the side and adding big crystals to the middle. This collar is 1.5" which provided the perfect surface to the crystals and also ensured that the collar is visible in Zulu’s neck fluff.
Currently, they offer 33 base Biothane colors and 31 stripe colors (that goes on top) which allows for plenty of color combinations. Each design has photos of a few color options to give you ideas on what they would look like.
For hardware options, you can choose between gold (brass), silver (nickel), and black (coated steel). The ring attachment on our 1.5" collar is a large D-ring that makes clipping the carabiner very easy.
